Flare Up 101: Getting started with Flare Up & Chill

Welcome to Flare Up & Chill, A gentle space for those living with endometriosis, adenomyosis, and chronic pain. Whether you’re newly diagnosed undiagnosed, or years into your journey, here’s how to get comfortable, connect, and feel supported.

1. Set Up Your Profile

  • Click ‘Create An Account’ on the homepage.
  • Choose your username and password. (you don’t have to use a real name!)
  • Either upload a picture from your camera roll, or if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, choose the ‘Click Here’ option to pick an icon!
  • Once your account is set up, it will redirect you to ‘Account Settings’.

Choose a section on the forum homepage, click ‘New Topic,’ and speak freely. 

Tips:

  • Add a clear subject line
  • Use hashtags like #fatigue, #flareup, #anxiety

5. What’s Not Allowed

This is a safe space. To protect all users, please avoid :

  • Hate speech, racism, ableism, or slurs
  • Political debates or world conflict discussions
  • Graphic triggering language (e.g. unfiltered self-harm posts)
  • Offering medical advice as fact

5. What to Do If You're Struggling

  • Use the Mental Health section
  • Or contact a helpline (numbers for helplines at the bottom of mental health forum page)
  • Reminder that triggering words like “suicide” are gently flagged to keep the space safe.
