So!
I saw a private colorectal surgeon yesterday and to summarise he said –
• My case is severe.
• I’m going to need surgery with himself who’s a colorectal surgeon, and an endometriosis team, and a surgeon who specialises in the diaghpram because he thinks due to my rib pain, there may be endometriosis there meaning diaphragmatic endometriosis.
• I may need a small section of my bowel removed.
• it’s going to be a big surgery.
He was genuinely the best dr that I’ve seen, and if I do decide to have the surgery privately, I genuinely feel so safe in his hands. He said if there’s anything I can think of that he can even do to help me if I do
decide to stick to the nhs, I should let him know and he will help to the best of his ability. He said if I do stick to the NHS, he will give me a list of great gynaecologists etc which I will of course share with you all (IF I stick to the nhs). But guys I don’t want sympathy or anything I’m okay loool. I done a lot of research prior and I knew due to my symptoms, this is the type of surgery I’d need so when I heard it all yesterday it wasn’t a shock in the slightest. Of course, it’s very
overwhelming because this will be my fourth and biggest surgery I’ve had, but it is what it is. I’m just proud of myself for
constantly advocating for myself, speaking up, and now I’m being listened to, taken seriously, and things are finally getting done. 🩷🩷🩷🩷
